utopian floes
caravan stage tall ship theatre, the seven seas.
i spent a summer working aboard this magical sailing theatre, making up a system that allowed isadora to present subtitles, managed from excel sheets. i also learned how to steer and navigate by touring from harbour to harbour in the greek seas. the show was performed on the deck of the tall ship amara zee.

TimeMap #3
Recoil dance performance
Tina Tarpgaard and i collaborated on the modern dance performance TimeMap #3. I coded the reactive visuals for the performance based on the storyboard we developed. The scenography is projected on three big mobile pvc’s, and is generated by a software ensemble of OpenFrameworks, Isadora and MaxMSP, cued from qLab and reacting to live writing and infrared tracking of the dancers.

Work in Progress
Automated pen doodles
Reviving an old Roland plotter, i programmed it to doodle. It took a few months, but it eventually ended up doodling the same way I do myself during long sedentary phone conversations. The plotter has been doodling away for some time at Halfmachine, and has been exhibited at the Alt_Cph opening, curated by Stine Hebert and Mikrogalleriet. The doodles can be tweaked live with knobs and take at least an hour to produce. The resulting unique pen drawings are sold signed in my name.

Theatreperformance on global warming with three times Brad Pitt in a mock-up aparment at Aarhus Teater, Denmark
I worked as a consultant on the on-stage video. I hosted a small video filming workshop for the actors and hacked together a low-cost wireless diversity video transmission system. And i convinced dmx-controlled dvd-players and a rs-232 controllable video router to work with the sfx cueing system.

Stop Motion
Interactive LED Wall installation for the re:new Festival at the Main Square, Copenhagen
In a few days, Jonas Jongejan and i came up with a photo installation for a 4,5 x 8 meter LED monolith. Combining infrared tracking of a normal light bulb and still images, to index photos of audience in a database according to bulb position within the picture frame. When participants moved the bulb within the field of view, the monolith flickered through previous images of other people having had the bulb at the same position.

Recoil Performance Group dance installation for Labyrint at Kaleidoskop K2, Copenhagen
A reactive floorprojection for a Recoil Performance Group dance performance/installation. Developed with choreographer Tina Tarpgaard and programmer Jonas Jongejan. The installation was part of a larger installation by Tim Rushton, Danish Dance Theatre called Labyrint. We used processing for the infrared videotracking of the dancers and drawing the open gl graphics. Tina controlled the whole thing live from an Isadora interface via osc.

Demo-Crazy
Theatreperformance on democracy in Eurovision format at CampX Rialto, Copenhagen
Run completely from Isadora, I did a nineties eurovision-plastice, cues, live compositing and live chromakeying. Aside from the composited graphics everything on screen was live from stage and the lobby. Aside from the imac, a handheld camera and two fixed cameras the setup included two remote-controlled robotic cameras, cctv ptz, and a videomatrix that were automated via rs-485 on cue from Isadora.

Nordisk Rumprojekt
Tabla.dk 3 week workshop at The National Theatre School (Statens Teaterskole), Copenhagen
A workshop for the scenography students from Denmark and Norway by Simon Moe and I. We explored videoprojected spaces, internet video links, video delays and reflexive telematics for stage use. Isadora was introduced.

A compressed three day workshop for theatre professionals by Simon Moe and I. We introduced videoprojected spaces, internet video links, video delays and reflexive telematics for stage use.

Recoil Workshop
Recoil Performance Group at the Metropolis Biennale, Copenhagen
Workshop at the Christiania Freetown and the Nørrebro neighbourhood in Copenhagen with dancers and musicians from Beirut, Lebanon and Geneva, Switzerland. Dance and music was streamed reciprocally to connect the interiors of a Nørrebro apart with the exteriors of the Moonfisher Café (Månefiskeren) in Christiania.

Grenzstadt Middle East
Recoil Performance Group at the Masahat Dance Festival, Beirut, Copenhagen and Amman
Modern dance performance for the international day of dance, simultaneously performed in Copenhagen and Amman, connected live with video and music through streaming internet technology. Due to commercial restraints on upstream bandwith from Lebanon at the time, we unfortunately had to cancel the show from Beirut.

Vanishing Currents
Caravan Stage Tall Ship Theatre, The Seven Seas.
I went to help this magical sailing theatre with videodesign, and ended up doing a bit of music and welding scenography for a touring show on the deck of the tall ship Amara Zee.

Galla performance in water
PassingByTheatre in the waters of Amager Beach Park, Copenhagen
Performed in a halfdrowned cocktailparty as inargual show for the new Amager Beach Park (Amager Strandpark). Directed by Katrine Karlsen.

Documented and participated in performative explorations of situated arguments about telematics, lead by Kjell Yngve Pedersen and Karin Søndergård.

Tabla.dk interactive installation at Roskilde Festival
In a short month we built a room where it rains, but not on people. Computer controlled rain, valves and relays aplenty, built as an installation for Roskilde Festival, and rebuilt as a stage for Halfmachine festival in Christiania.

Flyt dig
Generative interactive videoprojection at the Kopenhagen Gallery, Copenhagen
A computer translates the movements of passersby into a simple, but detailed drawing. Simple webcam-based motiontracking of the pavement running on a standard pc connected to a videoprojection in the gallery window.

2003

White Cube
Tabla.dk installation at Robodock Festival, Rotterdam
Twelve performers, installation artists, technicians and scenographers with a welder and blacksmith from Christiania. Bringing along a catapult seat from an F16 fighter in an old Swedish tank to the Robodock Festival at Verolme in Rotterdam. We found some old scrap metal and got started.

Halfframe
Interactive video installation at the Halfmachine Festival, Christiania
Live and recorded video composited to create the illusion of an advanced interactive video installation. A girl with a dress and a girl without occasionally react reasonably intelligent to the advances of a more or less drunk bar audience. Simulated artificial intelligence in all its beauty.

Cyberacademy.dk
Interactive web piece at Master of Art and Technology, Gothenburg
An open exploration of fantasies, distance and presence in mediated cybersex, formed as a scandinavian-tradition online course offering certification for safe cybersex. Participated in ZKM Medienkunstpreis 2003.
